I was told that i was approved for a 5000.00 loan and needed to send insurance premiun to get it deposit in my acount but when they got the money i didnt here from them again and now when i call i just get voice mail
If you had given just a little thought to this, you would have told them to take the “Insurance Premium” out of the $5000 and just send you the difference you would still have your $536. You will never find these people, but you can learn a lesson so it won’t happen again.
Internet loan scams are becoming more and more popular these days because so many people use the internet to help them facilitate that loan. Several legitimate companies do offer loans via the world wide web but, as with everything else, the fraud perpetrator is quickly ruining this.
First, no legitimate lender will ever request that you send a down payment, advance fee, insurance premium, or whatever term they may come up with prior to receiving a personal loan. This is what constitutes an advanced fee loan scam and it is illegal. If fees are required, legitimate lenders will always deduct those to a personal loan or perhaps add those fees to the loan but they will never request the person pay a down payment, insurance premium, or pay months of payments in advance, Never, ever, send money to someone or some business to receive a loan!
When purchasing something tangible, as a home, vehicle, motorcycle, boat, etc., lenders will request a down payment of, usually, 10% or 20%. The person making the purchase places the down payment and the lender will place the other 80% or 90%. The purchaser now owns the home, vehicle, boat, etc. and takes possession of the tangible property with a promise to repay the remaining note to the lender. Personal loans are not tangible property and therefore should never require any payment, of any kind, before the loan is received.
Being a retired fraud detective that has worked a large internet loan scam, I would recommend that you file a police report with jurisdiction that this business claims to be located and file a report with the U.S. Secret Service or F.B.I. I would also suggest that you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, FTC, and the National White Collar Crime Commission, NW3C.
Probably impossible to get your money back. Any of those sites that claim they loan money to people with bad/no credit with low interest rate and guaranteed approval and ask for money upfront are all scams.
Also any of those that post messages on this site that are pushing loans are also scams.
They are probably working out of Nigeria. By the time the US government can get the cooperation of the Nigerian government to investigate the web site, it will be closed down and reopened under a new name.
The following link lists hundreds of companies that are assumed to be loan scams. Lending Source Corp was reported recently on May 28, 2009.http://www.directlendingsolutions.com/sc…
